Dakar is an indie alternative hard rock four-piece out of Jacksonville (Duval County), Florida. They're currently promoting singles from their debut album, Say it Again including the title track, Chase Scene and Not Gonna Be Yo Sucka. The band was most recently nominated for Folio Weekly's Best in Jax award for best original local artist.

Dakar is the product of David Benfield, Darrell Edmunds, Luke Jean and Alejandro Soto, who formed the back in 2019 in the latest of a long run of respective projects. The name refers to the street in the Jax neighborhood of Murray Hill where the band developed its sound - one of several streets named after west African cities, incidentally.
